A Bowl of Joy
Let's be real, life is so fast nowadays. You get home from work, and what do you focus on? You have so many responsibilities to handle, taking the trash out, going to the gym, household care, you name it. One aspect of everyday life that can add unnecessary stress is dinner, what do you cook? Will it take a while? Do I have enough x to make this recipe?
All of these are valid dinnertime woes, but what if I told you there was a way to craft a delicious meal while maximizing your budget's savings? Ask yourself the following:
Do I enjoy these ingredients?
- Ground Beef
- Teriyaki Sauce (I LOVE THE PANDA EXPRESS BRANDED SAUCE)
- Steamed Rice
- A choice of vegetable (I prefer avocado personally)
I bet you can see where I am going with this, especially considering the mouth-watering image I included at the beginning.
Let me introduce to you my favorite meal, the Teriyaki Beef Bowl
Funnily enough, the cooking directions are just as short as the ingredients list:
- Prepare a pot of water based on your preferred rice amount, the ration of rice to ration typically is one (1) cup rice to (2) cups water, adjust to preference.
- Clean excess starches on rice, rinsing and draining your rice until the water is clear.
- Bring the pot of water to boil and stir in rice. Let the rice boil for about a minute uncovered.
- Cover the rice pot and simmer on a lesser heat (I use the low setting on my stove)
- Heat a medium saucepan on your stove on a medium-high heat level, and brown the ground beef.
- Drain the beef of excess fat using a strainer into an extra bowl.
- Return the beef to the saucepan to add the teriyaki sauce.
- Pour a liberal amount of teriyaki sauce onto the beef and mix.
- Add the cooked steamed rice to a bowl and top the beef on top of the bed of rice
- (Optional) Add your vegetables of choice to the top (I add avocado to mine for a creamier taste)
That's all the steps to craft a wonderful meal.
I hope you enjoy it, let me know what you think of this recipe, talk about simple happiness!
I love you all, Thanks for reading,
